Indian Summer Turkey Chili

SO considering it feels like an indian Summer out there right now...ok, well maybe not that warm, but it sure is beautiful I thought I would try this one last night! I guess Tuesday is officialy my recipe adventure night! So here you go..another big hit in our house! I served it over rice, and topped it with sour cream and cheese. I probably will add more hot sauce and chilli next time cause we like heat, and it is a sweeter chilli with the bbq sauce and such..but the great part about it is you can adjust the heat as you like! enjoy...we sure did!!!!

Ingredients:

2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
1 1/4 ground turkey breast
3 tbsp of dark chilli powder
1 tbs of Grill season(we use McCormicks Montreal steak)
1 tbsp of ground cumin
2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp of hot sauce
1 large yellow onion
2 bell peppers(I used one red one orange)
3/4 cup of beer..oh and a little swig for you while you cook:)*grin*
1 28 once can of tomato sauce or tomato puree
1/2 cup smokey barbeque sauce
1 cup of frozen corn kernels

Directions

Heat a pot over medium hight heat. Add the EVOO and the ground turkey. Season the meat with the chili poswer, grill seasoning, cumin, worcestershire, and hot sauce. Break up the meat with the back of a wodden spoon into small crumbles.

Chop the onion, reserving one quarter of it for topping the chili.(chop the reserve onion extra fine). Brown the meat for 5 minutes, than add the onion and bell peppers and cook 10 more minutes. Add the beer and deglaze the pan, scraping up the drippings and cooking off the alcohol. Add the tomato sauce or puree, bbq sauce, and corn and bring the chili to a bubble. Let the chili simmer for 10 minutes. Adjust the sasonings and heat level to your taste. Remove from heat and serve with your choice of toppers.
