Todays Challenge...nap time

So last night was amazing..my little peanut slept 7 hours straight..had a little drink..went back to sleep and slept another 3 hours!! woohoo!! what a great night:) Dave and I worked really hard on getting Addy to go to sleep properly at night, it was hard the first couple of weeks, but all that work seems to be paying off. Bath time, feeding time, than she usually lays in her crib, stares, plays and than puts herself to sleep...its great. So with that being said...why can't my days be like that! My little missy is quite the tricky one to get to nap. she fights sleep and can stay up awake for ridiculous lengths of time..gets herself so overtired that its game over;) well, I thought to myself yesterday why haven't I been trying the same approach as we did for night time routine? So this afternoon..we started the routine..layed her down..she cried, picked her up soothed her, back down again..cried..and so on..well it took a half an hour of this but she finally gave in and went down to sleep!! yeh!!! I am sure it will take a few days for this concept to quick in..but we will get it!! The one thing that I can say about her and sleeping in the day, if we are out and about or go for a walk..she is amazing!! She is such a good little traveler and loves her car seat and stroller so for that I am extremely grateful!!!

Id rather be...

Today is just one of those days:) Floating along, surviving the heat! Its amazing how much this heat affects us! I feel like I am permanetly tired, I have a cranky hot baby..which makes a cranky hot mama. And I just want to sleep:)
So I was watching the bacholerette season finale this morning as I was at my shower on monday night..it was interesting watching after the rose before the show..and than to look back and see if I could tell who she was going to pick..anyways, I was watching the show in Hawaii and thinking how badly I wanted to be there right now!!! I love Hawaii, only have been there once, but our goal/dream is to back there together before we have another baby....pretty good goal i think! Anyways, right now, id rather be sitting on the beach in Maui, sipping a pina colada..with a good book in hand..both my babies beside me..and drifting away into a nice nap under the cool ocean breeze....so my question..what would you rather be doing right now..or where would you rather be??

six weeks!

My baby girl is six weeks today! Its so hard to believe how fast it goes!!

So at six weeks my princess weighs 11lbs!!! just got her weighed today:) She's really chunked up this week..makes me so proud:) She is getting more alert, but always has been! She can track people and things now which is so neat to see. She is discovering her voice and makes lots of coos and squaks! She kickes and wiggles like crazy! She loves her play mat now and stares at her little friends:) she slept 7 hours straight the other night for me! hopefully I will have more of those! she stares at her daddy and gives him lots of smiles..she is quite in love;)

All in all, my princess is growing up and getting big! i have to say I love it more and more all the time as her little personality is coming out and she is starting to become so much fun!!

I will be back with a new picture tomorrow as we are heading to my sister in laws for Addy's shower!

The Ugly Truth about the Ugly Truth:)

Daddy D and I went on our first real date since Addy was born..we went out for sushi and a movie;) I lasted four hours away from my baby girl...I was quite proud of myself, but so happy to give her kisses when we got home!!

Anyways, for date night Dave and I went and saw the ugly truth:) Thats right, I dragged my man to a chick flick! So my review on this movie is mixed..the title of my post sounds harsh, but I just thought it was catchy;)hehe This wasn't your typical pg 13 romantic comedy..it was definetly adult only..one of those movies you know you shouldn't be laughing but you can't help yourself. Well, I have to say that between the over crudeness and bluntness..and some inappropriateness...I haven't laughed that hard in a movie in a long time! It was a well paced movie with lots of laughs..katherine is adorable, and Gerard butler plays the shovenist pig very well! So if you don't mind crudeness..its definetly worth seeing..however if you want to keep your ears a little more pure..wait till it comes out on tv and is a little bit more appropriate;) all in all though we had a great night out together!

Cookie Recommendation

Have you tried these yet??? I have only tried the blueberry and brown sugar ones and they are delicious!! A nice somewhat healthy afternoon treat...no if I can just put down' the chips in the evening we will be all good!! Who would have thunk it that i would have more cravings breastfeeding that being pregnant..for example right now..can't get enough potato's..potato salad, chips, french fries...you name it.. I want it...so bad!!!!

A day at the lake

Before me and my two girlfriends had our babies we talked about how much we looked forward to spending the summer at the lake..we thought we had it made;)
Well, turns out when reality hit, and trying to get three babies and three mommies organized for a day at the lake can get a bit tricky;) One baby will be crying, and than once he/she stops the other one starts..its like they know and do it just to keep us on our toes. Or when the boys were asleep miss addy would be awake, and than as soon as went to sleep the boys woke up..quite the entertainment. At first the question stood..is this worth it?? The answer...yes!! Once we got settled and set up shop..the babies tummies were full..and babies were content..it was fantastic. Nothing better than living 10 min away from the lake, with a starbucks in hand, my sweet girl in the other..the warm breeze in our hair and our toes in the warm water..did I mention that the lake has never felt warmer..these hot summer days are doing something! Anyways, the verdict is in and if this weather hold up we will definetly be going back next week!

Childrens Place

ATTENTION ALL MOMS!! So I was at the quensborough outlets with my mama and baby today and went into childrens place..just wanted to let you all know there are some great sales there right now..50% off the last ticketed price! We got about 3 dresses and a couple pairs of shorts and a shirt for like $25~ crazy good deals..and such cute stuff!!!

Gas

How's that for a title..well, thats what my morning involved. I hate baby gas..and I can't wait for it to pass..this stage:( but not for her to grow up to fast..but wish the gas would go away! I hate watching her suffer with it, and how it wakes her up from her sleep and me too:( Anyways, that's my not so positive post for the day! I just pray every day her little tummy gets stronger..and that she will be able to pass that gas through! We did go for a great walk this morning and i ma so thankful she loves being in her car seat and stroller! She was just peaceful and starring for the hour that she was in it! Anyways, hope everyones monday is off to a good start..oh and I can't wait for the men tell all tonight! but oh my, what I am goign to do without my bachelorette in two weeks:(hehe ok, I am sure I will survive;)

Provision Sunday..

So my fellow blogger friend Shawna did a post today about Gods provision in our lives. She wrote a great story of how in such a practical way God provided for her, and how grateful she was for that. The thing about this is that I think God provides more for us than we realize..its whether or not we choose to see Gods hand in things. This has something that has been very strong in my life that I stive towards...seeing Gods continual blessings in our life. The irony of this post of Shawna's is that the cermon in church this morning was exactly about the same thing. Ask...and you shall receive. The question is..are we asking?

The Power of Baby Enstein!

So yesterday we put miss Addy in her bouncy chair at my mom and dads place in front of their big screen tv, and threw on some Baby E bethoveen..well, my little missy was quite taken. She sat and watched the whole thing!! And they say its for 3 months plus:*grin*
I might be creating a tv monster though! Her new thing this week is to sit on daddy's lap and watch tv with him:)hehe I think Daddy is going to have to start watching more cartoons and not Action flicks!

Yummy Banana Crumb Muffins

So this is Friday's post but I am writting it tonight as my peanut is sound asleep...ahh:) Sweet sleeping baby*grin*

Anyways, I made these this afternoon..I think I set a record for taking the longest to make these suckers in between holding a baby and breastfeeding:) but I got them done!! Thanks to my mom helping out with the babe;)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups of Flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 tsp of baking powder
1/2tsp of salt
3 bananas mashed
3/4 cups of white sugar
1egg slightly beaten
1/3 cup of butter melted
1/3 cup of brown sugar
2tbsp of all purpose flour
1/8tsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp of butter


Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

1. in a large bowl mix together 1 1/2 cups of flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.

2. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2tbsp flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1tsbp of butter until mixture resemebles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle topping over muffins.

3. Bake in preheated oven for 18-20min, until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean!

So easy and so yummy. Also, FYI for anyone who is trying to watch their wheat...not weight..I used Spelt flour and they tast delicious! You can get it any health food store and is a great alternative for anyone who has a wheat sensitivity!

Norwex

So I went to a Norwex party last night at my girlfriends house;) Have you heard of these products? Have you used them? I picked up one of those micro firbre clothes..for anyone who hasn't heard of them that is their main product. A micro fibre cleaning cloth with silver in it to kill the bacteria..and all you need to do is add water! I got a couple other products to try so I will come back with some feedback on those! We are trying to go as natural as possible around here as i have lots of sensitivites and allergies and with a new baby in the house!

On Addy's one week birthday we had a photographer come over and take some snap shots..just got them back today and I love them!!

The one with her on the white blanket is special because my little sweet pea decided to break in the photographers new blanky with a nice big runny poop on it...oh my...I was a little bit embarassed needless to say, but she was so good about it..and really what do you expect when you remove a newborns diaper!

Big Shopping Trip:)

Its so funny how a baby changes the littlest things, and makes things feel so surreal to me:)
Today for the first time I went to the mall with my baby and shopped by myself for an hour!woohoo! Sounds lame I know, but because again having two more weeks in my c section recovery, i haven't gone anywhere by myself, with her,accept for a walk around the block! So this afternoon my dad dropped me off in the abby mall while him and my granny did a few things. At first I kept thinking, I can't believe I am allowed to be out with her alone...oh wait she's mine;)! Still in shock about that fact too!
I also had my first experience of taking a stroller into the change room...umm, who designed those things! Anyways, my precious baby slept like an angel the whole time and it was a great successful first trip out! Its amazing how all these first experiences feel so surreal and so special all at the same time!

another busy Weekend;)

Well, its hard to believe that my peanut is three weeks today! wow has time flown:) I am sure I will be saying this every week though! It has been quite the busy first three weeks of her life, filled with lots of events and vistors her love her to peices...but now this mama is tired and looking forward to hopefully a quiter week:) After a couple visits from friends, thursday night brought us daddy D's brother and his wife and their miss E who was born two days after Addy:) They came for the weekend, so we got lots of time for the girls to get to know eachother..not that they were that interested! Mostly they just fed off eachother all weekend...one would sleep and than the would wake up to the other one going to sleep..never could get them on the same schedule;)hehe But we had lots of fun and love...and laughs from the over tired humor! Sunday as well we had my other girlfriend and her daughter come for a visit! All in all a great..busy..weekend:)whew..is it bed time again yet?? Not yet..but we are in our swing so mama can blog...but we like to fight sleep in the morning so we will see! Oh I see heavy eyelids this could be a good sign! Anyways hope you all had a good Canada day and for some lovely long weekends and holidays!

Happy Bleated Canada day!

Hope everyone had a great day lounging in the sun! We did;) It was so nice to sit back and relax and work on the tan:) We headed over to my parents place, and Dave, Addyson, Winston and I chilled in their back yard. In the evening our good friends Z and B came out for a bbq and to meet our little peanut..all in all a great day!
